A CHINESE EXPORT SILVER-MOUNTED CARVED IVORY TEA-CADDY
LATE 18TH CENTURY
Of rectangular shape, the top carved in shallow to medium relief in the centre with a quatrefoil panel depicting figures in a landscape scene dotted with buildings and bridges, surrounded by further shaped panels enclosing flowering branches or landscape scenes, the sides similarly decorated, the interior divided into three compartments each fitted with a rectangular container, the tea-caddy mounted with claw and ball feet, loop handle and escutcheon
