The Goerz Anschütz camera was introduced in 1890 with a body in the form of a four-side truncated pyramid. The second model with a square-form body was introduced in 1892 (Lothrop says 1890). Coe described the Anschütz as having a considerable influence on the design of the hand camera offering speeds of up to .1/1000th second through an innovative fabric focal plane shutter. The design of the shutter was one of the outcomes of Ottomar Anschütz's innovative work in producing photographs arresting movement.
