The Ringside Graphic was built specifically for use at sporting events, particularly boxing. It was briefly mentioned and illustrated in the 1940 edition of Graflex and Graphic Photography, where the accompanying caption states: 'Ringside Camera. This camera uses just the rear focal plane shutter and is very similar to the regular Speed Graphic model in operation. A large focusing ring permits quick change of distances to fast sporting action within comparatively close quarters'.
According to a former employee the Ringside Graphic was made to special order and in very limited numbers. They were usually ordered by newspapers and built around the client's own lens. As they were essentially custom made they did not carry a serial number. This camera is believed to have been made around 1937-1938.
The model is not noted in Richard Paine's A Review of Graflex although Paine makes comment of the camera at: https://www.graflex.org/GHQ/V2I3/letters.html.
