A CAST GILT-BRONZE FIGURE OF A SEATED BODHISATTVA, AVALOKITESVARA

The bodhisattva shown seated in lalitasana atop a lotus base with the right foot resting on a lotus support, the hands held in vitarkamudra each holding the end of the lotus stem that rises to the shoulder, the slender figure arrayed in beaded jewellery, with large pendant earrings and a foliate crown, a copper plate covering the base inscribed with a double vajra
3 7/8 in. (9.9 cm.) high, in a fitted red velvet covered box
