The cover painted with a flower-formed 'M' and scattered sprays, a winged putto with a garland of roses and scroll shaped blue ground panels enriched in raised gilt, the sides similarly painted, the interior, cover and base painted with a bouquet, inscribed to base specialement pour S.A.R la princesse Margaret d'Angleterre

Le Tallec is possibly the most prestigious decorating studio in France. Founded in Paris in 1930 it specialised in hand painting Limoges porcelain, especially boxes, to a high standard and even produced wares for Tiffany & Co.
