On February 24, 1965 the Peace Eye Bookstore was opened by the poet Ed Sanders on East 10th Street in New York City. Andy Warhol created three silkscreened Flowers on colored cloth for the opening, and this is the only one that survives. The bookstore's opening occurred simultaneously with the publication of the mimeographed poetry journal FuckYou/A Magazine of the Arts which featured a still from Warhol's film Couch on the cover.
