Gio Ponti was the artistic director of Richard Ginori, ceramic manufacturer, from 1923 to 1930 and developed the serial production of the firm. He became famous at the first 'Mostra' of Decorative Arts in Monza, 1923, where he exhibited most appreciated neo-classical inspired ceramic pieces. He was awarded a 'Grand Prix' at the 1925 International Exhibition, Paris

Gio Ponti occupe la fonction de directeur artistique chez Richard Ginori, fabricant de céramique, de 1923 à 1930. Il s'emploie à adapter la fabrication artisanale de la maison à la production de série. Il se fait connaître à la première Mostra d'arts décoratifs de Monza en 1923 grâce à ses créations d'inspiration néo-classique, pour lesquelles il recevra un grand prix à l'Exposition Internationale de 1925 à Paris
