Barbados: Guardian Office [from 1897 Globe Office], 1895-1914. 20 vols., 8vo., wood-engraved plate in 1898, photographic plate in 1913 (some browning), uniform red cloth, spines gilt-lettered and numbered 1 to 20, original printed wrappers bound in, 1897 preserving original printed boards (some wrappers soiled, several with minor tears). Provenance: 1895 inscribed on errata leaf "With the complts. of the compiler" and with Gibbons' address in Barbados in his hand -- 1901 with gift inscription on front wrapper from H. Laurie to Alfred Gaston -- 1911 inscribed to the "Revd. Robert Stratten Holmes "with compiler's complts. (one previously sent)" -- J.K. Rowbotham (sold by E.K. Brown, spring catalogue 1973, item 1) -- Alan Davies (label in all vols).
