A Swatow polychrome Islamic-inscribed dish
Late 16th/17th Century
Painted in turquoise enamel around the gently curving cavetto with eight roundels of Islamic calligraphy alternating with Islamic characters, between continuous borders of inscription, all encircling larger calligraphy within the central medallion, the rim with iron-red double lines, crack, very small rim restoration
36.4 cm. diam.
