Mid 17th Century, the silver 1857, maker's mark indistinct, the Netherlands
The pear-shaped body painted with a garden scene depicting a young servant carrying a wrapped qin towards scholars at leisure, below stylised foliage and tulip stems, with silver rim and cover with shell-shaped thumb-piece, glaze frit
