the hood with swan-neck pediment and pierced lattice panels above a blind-fret frieze and conforming ornament to the door flanked by fluted column uprights and pierced sound frets to the sides, the square brass dial with cherub mask spandrels enclosing a silvered Roman and Arabic chapter ring, the silvered centre engraved with exotic birds and foliate scrolls, with date aperture above the signature Jno Barnifh Rochdale, the four pillar movement with pull repeat chord, anchor escapement striking a gong, with two iron weights, a pendulum and a winder, the trunk with shaped top to the door, further blind fret panels flanked by fluted pilasters, on a panelled plinth
