An Italian sculpted alabaster figure of a youth, by Pietro Bazzanti,
late 19th century
modelled seated on a rocky outcrop holding a penny whistle to his lip, the base carved with flowers, signed to the reverse P. Bazzanti Firenze

on a serpentine marble pedestal, heightened in gilt, modelled with an oak leaf swag below a stiff-leaf carved capital below a frieze of stellar motifs, the pedestal inscribed FRANKLYN AND HIS WHISTLE (sic) -- 44½in. (113cm.) high
