A North Italian walnut and parquetry writing table,
late 18th century
decorated overall with chequer panels, lines and crossbanding, the rectangular top centred with a circular medallion depicting a cockerel flanked to either side by further circular medallions, the frieze fitted with a tooled leather-lined writing surface with a central drawer below above an arched kneehole flanked to either side by a deep drawer, the reverse with dummy drawers, on square tapering legs
