Of Louis XVI style, each with the scrolling acanthus issuing a child and terminating in a flaming torch, on a fluted, acanthus and bead-cast base with acorn-shaped feet

Lot Essay

Auguste Morisot (1857-1951) was active as a decorator at the hôtel of Mme de Neyron de Champollon in Lyon and at her manor Saint-Point near Pontarlier, for which he designed lighting fixtures, stained-glass windows, ironwork, wood-panelling, and furniture. He is also recorded as participating in the Exposition Universelle of 1878.
