The dovetail attaching the front molding to the bottom of the case and the sliding dovetails joining the top to the case sides are characteristics of Boston cabinetmaking. This chest also exhibits some features found on North Shore furniture - the raised inner bead on the tops of the drawer sides and tall ball-and-claw feet - that suggests the possibility of North Shore influence or origin as well.
