A RAPIER, SPANISH OR NEAPOLITAN
Late 17th Century
With tapering blade of flattened diamond section (repaired in the middle), rectangular ricasso, iron hilt of rounded bars decorated with mouldings at the median point and at the terminals, including inner-and outer-rings each carrying a large sprung-in plate, each cut with a bold design of stylised flowers, and the grip bound with patterned copper wire and 'Turk's heads'.
