AN ITALIAN PARADE HALBERD; AND TWO OTHER HALBERDS

The head formed with slender central spike encircled by a cage of moulded bars at the base, slender crescentic axe-blade, angular rear fluke, open socket extending to a pair of straps, and retaining traces of a punched and engraved design: on its original octagonal staff; and a further two halberds, early 17th Century, probably German, each very similar, the heads incorporating a slender long spike, and the axe-blade and fluke each formed with a pair of recurved projections at the rear: each on a later haft.
