The first early 17th Century; the second late 16th Century
The first with tapering double-edged blade of flattened diamond section, iron hilt formed with a pair of moulded drooping quillons with projecting drop-shaped ring-guard between, and retaining its original leather-covered grip (worn throughout, sprung-in plate missing); the second with cut-down blade (heavily pitted) and the hilt formed with long vertically recurved quillons and fluted pommel.
