A DUTCH CUIRASSIER'S CLOSE HELMET

With two-piece skull joined along the low comb with a rolled overlap, iron plume-holder at the rear, bluntly pointed visor and upper-and lower-bevors pivoted at a common point, the visor with strong medial ridge dividing a pair of sights (lifting-peg replaced), upper-bevor formed with a very slightly concave front line and pierced with circular groups of breaths on both sides, single gorget-plate front and rear with turned edge, two hook and eye locking-catches on the right, the subsidiary edges engraved with a single line throughout, and studded with domed lining rivets (cleaning scratches and light pitting).
