A GEORGE V COUNTY LIEUTENANT'S MAMELUKE-HILTED SWORD; A 1796 PATTERN HEAVY CAVALRY DRESS SWORD; FOUR FURTHER OFFICER'S REGULATION SWORDS; AND A GERMAN M. 1889 CAVALRY TROOPER'S SWORD
The first circa 1910; the remaining items 19th Century
The first with etched blade retaining most of its original polish, gilt-brass hilt with silver Royal cypher, ivory grips (one cracked), sword knot, and original plated scabbard with gilt-brass mounts; the second with traces of etching on both sides at the forte, including the cutler's signature of 'Osborn & Gunby', gilt-brass hilt (loose, grip incomplete), and original steel scabbard; the remainder comprising a George IV Coldstream Guards 1822 pattern sword, in its brass scabbard; three Victorian 1821 pattern Light Cavalry officer's swords, post-Crimea two named to an officer in the 13th Light Dragoons, each in its scabbard; and the last dated 1891, 1st Garde Uhlans, in its scabbard.
