A massive fahua-style pottery censer and cover, 19th Century
Standing on three stylised human-mask feet and applied with two dragon loop handles, the domed cover with large seated Buddhist lion finial, the globular sides moulded with lotus sprays and the neck with two dragons confronted around a flaming pearl with a cockerel on the opposite side, the cover with a Buddhist lion finial and decorated with lotus spray, all picked out in aubergine and cream glazes reserved on a turquoise ground -- 40½ in. (103 cm.) high, 24 in. (61 cm.) wide.
