A flambe glazed tripod censer, 19th century or earlier
The compressed bombe body with raised waisted neck and lipped rim, flanked by two rectangular loop handles rising from the high shoulders, covered overall in a thick mottled blue and lavender glaze stopping short of the feet, thinning around the rim and handles to a buff-chocolate brown glaze, the interior with an aubergine wash -- 6 1/8 in. (15.5 cm.) diam.
