With steep sides, painted on the exterior with bats amidst cloud scrolls flanking roundels enclosing characters between bands of flowering scrolls, with a shou character in the interior, iron-red four-character De Xiu Tang Zhi mark (Made by the Hall of Cultivated Virtue) -- 4 in. (12 cm.) diam.
