See Elizabeth Adams, Chelsea Porcelain, London, 1987, p. 20, pl. 7 for an example of the silver prototype intended as a sauceboat stand on which the present porcelain dishes are based. Designed 1746-1747 by Nicolas Sprimont, the stand with its sauceboat and ladle from the collection of Jessie and Sigmund Katz are now in the collection of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.
