Lot Essay

Elsie de Wolfe, the legendary arbiter of taste and design, commissioned Max Ingrand to create this piece for the fantasy boudoir bathroom of her Paris apartment at 10 Avenue d'Iéna. Doubling as a sitting room, this luxe bathroon was where de Wolfe hosted her closest friends for cocktails.
