THE PRESIDENT'S WIDOW HAS EXHAUSTED THE SUPPLY OF HER HUSBAND'S SIGNATURE. "I...hasten to send you," Mrs. Harrison writes, "the only autograph I have on hand, of my dear Husband & you will perceive that it has been cut from a letter. I have been obliged to cut them from almost all of my letters & Books, & have ever felt gratified to have it in my power to accommodate the numerous friends of my dear Husband, that asked for them." Mrs. Anne Symmes Harrison survived her husband by 23 years, dying at age 88 in 1864. The widow of one President and the grandmother of another, she never had time to take up residence in the White House after the sudden death of her husband
