with steel frame enclosing cast bronze setting circle with eight-gauge pattern, top slide with hinged cutting wheel and hand-crank and long- reach screw feed, stamped on the top frame with centre-punch marks 1795 ISS -12in. (30.5cm) long, diameter of setting circle 5½in. (14cm) (later machine polished and ground)
