ROUGET

Being the nephew of Henri Jayer helped convince Emmanuel Rouget to give up his job as a tractor engineer to pursue winemaking. While making wine for several uncles, he works as a share-cropper to make all the wines together and label his own along with some from his own vines. Rouget remains loyal to Henri's winemaking ethos that calls for low yields-even the villages level wines are 40hl/ha, cold soak macerations and 100 new oak for the grand crus. The wines are concentrated and gain momentum with time.
