Four handwritten drafts of a heartfelt tribute to Stevie Ray Vaughan by Eric Clapton [Vaughan died on 27th August, 1990], each written in black ballpoint pen, three drafts on cream headed stationery, two of these incomplete; and one longer version on two sheets of cream paper, the tribute stating that Clapton first heard Stevie Ray playing on Bowie's record Let's Dance and continuing ...I knew instantly that there was a giant out there... adding ...To hear him play would make my hair stand on end for joy, and sometimes make me feel ashamed for my own laziness, but always it would make me feel good... finishing on a moving yet positive note ..I wish he were still alive, for he gave the blues a new place of respect in the world, and although I miss him, I will always have his music as my companion...
