According to the accompanying letter, these signatures were obtained at a club in Huddersfield called Ivanhoes on 25th December, 1977. The Sex Pistols were due to give a gig during the afternoon for the striking firemen's families which turned into a boisterous party resulting in a huge mess to be cleared in time for the evening gig. In return for helping to clear up, the original owner and his friend were given free tickets for the gig and obtained the signatures during the clean-up operation.
