Lot Essay

As a student, the vendor sold advertising space for the student magazine UNIT; his friend, Maurice Hindle had written to Lennon requesting an interview in either the autumn term of 1968, or the spring term of 1969. Lennon replied, inviting them to Weybridge along with another friend, Daniel Wiles. The vendor recalls Lennon meeting them at the train station in his mini, and driving them to Tittenhurst where they spent the entire afternoon conducting the interview, at the end of which, Lennon gave each of them a signed Two Virgins album.
