Lot Essay

The present watercolour is a capriccio view of the antiquities of Egypt and does not appear to relate to Roberts' series of lithographs of Egypt, which were published from 1842-1849.

We are grateful to Briony Llewellyn for her help in preparing this catalogue entry.
