Designed as a stylised flower set with a cabochon emerald centre and marquise-cut sapphire petals to the openwork scroll shoulders, in green leather case, the inner silk lining inscribed by hand 'Dolly'

H.M. Queen Mary had three younger brothers, the eldest of whom was H.R.H. Prince Adolphus of Teck. He became the Marquess of Cambridge and married Lady Margaret Grosvenor, daughter of the 1st Duke of Westminster, and was known to family and friends as 'Dolly'.
