A model of the S.S. Nieuw Amsterdam
the hull built up in wood and painted with a red bottom, black and white topsides, a gold cove stripe, painted windows and portholes, paper decks laid down with the planking lines drawn on, and the deck detailed with: anchors, bollards, anchor windlass, ventilators, splash rail, cargo hatches, built up decks, masts rigged with cargo booms, bridge and bridge wings, funnels painted in HAL livery, life boats on davits, the name painted on the bow and the stern, and other details. Displayed in a plexiglass case with a mahogany base.
