A model of the S.S. Lurline for the Matson Line
Van Ryper, Vineyard Haven, MA; circa
built up from the solid and painted with a red bottom, green waterline, white topsides with a blue waist stripe. The decks of the model are paper with the deck planking drawn on, the decks are detailed with: anchors, chocks, bollards, ventilators, deck railings, deck hatches, mast with cargo booms, cargo winches, bridge, deck tennis courts, funnels painted in Matson Line livery, life boats on davits, name boards, pool, rudder, propeller and other details. Displayed in a glass case with a mahogany base.
