The bowl circular with alternating classical figures and laurel wreaths, above a frieze of leaves, berries and palmettes, on an openwork pedestal base with scroll-capped paw feet, the foliage rim with two butterfly handles, the cover with swan finial and engraved initials 'DC' below a coronet, marked on base, near rim, inside bowl and on rim and inside bowl
