QIANLONG IMPRESSED SIX-CHARACTER SEALMARK AND OF THE PERIOD (1736-1795)

Of rectangular section, moulded on two sides with a peach-form panel, applied on the slightly waisted neck with a pair of lug handles, and supported on a conforming foot, covered overall in a characteristic red glaze generously streaked with shades of purple and blue and thinning to a cream on the mouth rim, canted sides and handles, the base with a brown and celadon wash

A similar Qianlong-marked vase is illustrated in The Tsui Museum of Art, Chinese Ceramics IV, Hong Kong, 1995, no. 47; and several were sold at auction, including the example in these Rooms, 26 April 2004, lot 1058.
