A FAMILLE ROSE RUBY-GROUND 'MEDALLION' BOWL
DAOGUANG SIX-CHARACTER SEALMARK AND OF THE PERIOD (1821-1850)

The exterior well enamelled with four gilt-bordered roundels enclosing sprays of peonies, peaches, roses and pomegranates, divided by stylised lotus sprigs against a graviata ruby-pink ground, the interior painted in underglaze-blue with a central medallion of a basket of flowers, surrounded on the cavetto by four detached clusters of lingzhi growing beside other flowering and fruiting plants
5 7/8 in. (15 cm.) diam.
