Finely enamelled with five scholars in a garden setting, two standing in conversation, while a third scholar watches two chess-players seated around a table made from a tree trunk stump, shaded by a pine tree growing beside rocks and flowering shrubs, the base inscribed in blue enamel with nine characters, Taowu jiandu Guo Baochang jin zhi, 'Respectfully made by the ceramic supervisor Guo Baochang'
