Lot Essay

A closely related bedside cupboard, but with convex tambour shutter and strongly Sheratonian marquetry, formerly in the collection of the 1st Viscount Leverhulme, was sold anonymously, in these Rooms, 11 November 1999, lot 158 (£27,600). A plain mahogany pair, also with concave tambour shutter doors, was sold anonymously, Sotheby's, London, 26 November 2003, lot 121 (£33,600).
