The circular top with a moulded edge on a pedestal base with turned baluster column above four downswept square tapering legs, with brass caps and castors, one bearer inscribed in chalk 'CAPTAIN DONALD', the block stamped 'J. KERR & CO.' and '7195 9', the top and base associated, with later bearers

Lot Essay

A pair of Irish Regency mahogany library tables by the same maker were offered anonymously, Christie's, London, 5 June 2002, lot 58. One of these tables was stamped to the underside 'J. KERR & CO' and numbered '72112', the other '72114', one stencilled 'From Kerr & Compy Cabinet Makers & Upholsterers 12 & 13 STAFFORD ST DUBLIN'.
