TARENTINE, ARCHAIC PERIOD, CIRCA LATE 6TH CENTURY B.C.
Semi-circular in form, molded with a gorgoneion, the wide face with large almond-shaped eyes and a prominent nose, the tongue protruding through fanged teeth, with a pronounced chin, the beard with pointed locks, stylized hair across the forehead, three rows of braids framing the face
