Lot Essay

Georges Monbro (d.1884) succeeded his father and in 1863 established a business at 2 Frith Street, Soho Square, London, specialising in fine furniture in the fashionable revival styles. Monbro received several Royal Commissions and exhibited at the 1855 Paris Exhibition Universelle. The business was taken over by Mellier & co in 1868.
