Tasting Note: at Penning-Roswell's '10-year' tasting of first growths, fairly deep; a fragrant, mild tea, well-developed nose; sweet, 'rather strange flavour', and soft tannins. Most recently, at a Bordeaux Club dinner (decanted at 5.45pm, served around 8.30pm): very surprisingly sweet, lean, with good favour and masked tannin. Last noted in the Master's Lodge, Caius, Cambridge, June 2000 **(**) At its best, say 2010 - 2025. M.B.
