Lot Essay

Mekong was built in 1906 and launched with the name Maund. In 1913 she was purchased by the Duc de Montpensier and renamed Mekong. Kept at Southampton, she was hired as a patrol yacht during the Great War but was wrecked of Filey Brigg on 12th March, 1916.
