The Assumption of the Virgin

Mario di Giampaolo kindly suggested the attribution to Chiaveghino. A comparable drawing is related to a picture painted in 1600 for the Duomo di Fidenza, S. Bandera Bistoletti, Disegni lombardi del cinque e seicento, Milan, exhib. cat., Pinacoteca di Brera, 1986, no. 37b. A chalk drawing by Chiaveghino was sold at Christie's London, 1 July 1997, lot 33.
