220 x 150mm. 99 vellum leaves (lacking opening folio) written in brown ink with headings in pink, inscribed by Aloys Lambertus, secretary, ducal palace, 26 October 1568. Includes provisions for the punishment and death of numerous bandits in the city. IN A VERY HANDSOME CONTEMPORARY VENETIAN BINDING; gold-tooled dark morocco with multiple fillet frames in blind and gilt, central roundel on both covers, the upper lettered with Baduario's name and dated 1568, the lower with ?Fortune catching the winds of change, both within elegantly shaped compartments with floral tools and ornaments, and within richly tooled gilt frames (lacking ties, lighty rubbed, short split at spine foot, small repairs).
