EINSTEIN, Albert (1879-1955). Two autograph postcards signed ('A. Einstein' and 'Albert') to his wife, Mileva, [postmarked Berlin, 27 January 1915 and 17 March 1918], the first coldly settling financial matters in the early stages of their separation, acceding to her arguments that she should have control of some money deposited in Zurich, although it will be more difficult for him to get access to the money deposited in Prague; in the second card, in much more friendly tones, he discusses arrangements for her acknowledgement of her quarterly allowance of 2000 francs, expresses his pleasure at news of the improvement in her health, and asks that she take great care of Eduard's health, adding 'I think that he should perhaps permanently be kept out of the city'; together 2 pages, 8vo.
