HELPING HIS SON TO EMIGRATE: 'Albert should absolutely not travel on the Bernstein Line; that is a German line ... It would be an absolute scandal if anything of the sort became known here'. He cannot invite Frieda to stay, however: 'After all my difficult experiences I have a great need for quiet, and have to be happy that I can still work with any success'. It will be best if Hans Albert comes alone, as it is not easy to find a job: 'Something must be attempted in any case, because the future of Switzerland looks fairly problematic. You should realise that salaries here in general are pretty bad, not at all the way America is presented over there'. Hans Albert should buy a ticket early, and travel tourist class, as it is cheaper.
