Contemporary German blindstamped pigskin over bevelled wooden boards, two fore-edge clasps, five-link metal chain with round eyelet attached to rear board by metal hasp, saints' roll dated 1528, paper title label on front cover and spine (labels worn, back cover rubbed). Provenance: Johannes Hegda, Franciscan brother (inscription dated 1530) -- Eger, Minorite convent (early title inscription) -- Vicomte Amaury de Ghellinck d'Elseghem-Vaernewyck, Elseghem Castle (1851-1919; bookplate).
